Collapsing in Parts
Footnote 3: "It's 1957, And The Press Release Still Isn't Written"
With Adam Gibbons, Lewis Ronald and Jesper List Thomsen
Footnote 3: "It's 1957, And The Press Release Still Isn't Written" is the third footnote event in Collapsing in Parts, an eight month solo project by Cally Spooner at International Project Space, examining the crisis of performing, progress and the loss of private life via eight chapters of writing and footnote events.
Footnote 3 is a group show taking place in Hamburg at the invitation of Hermes und der Pfau and hosted by WCW Gallery Hamburg with Adam Gibbons, Lewis Ronald and Jesper List Thomsen. The exhibition explores the shift from action to work, and work to action via Hannah Arendt, a constellation of reading, an exhibition of work and a live performance in Hamburg.
"It's 1957 and the press release still isn't written. This seems good. It's as far as she gets. And so, she starts, again, in a space of perpetual starts, this seems like a start. And so, she starts, somewhere in Hyde Park, on the 22nd of august, where it's 1957, and speaking is in decline.
Are you sure?
Pretty sure.
Are you quoting?
Not exactly.
Did you outsource?
Absolutely.
And remind me why this is ok?…"
